Kalologie is a spa company with locations in some of the most exclusive cities in the world like Scottsdale, Las Vegas and two Real Housewives hotspots, Beverly Hills and Ladera Ranch. Even if you don’t live near these places, you can still experience the brand’s amazing line of skincare.
The people at Kalologie sent me the Replenish Night Repair Cream to take for a spin and I loved it! Made with rose hip seed oil ( an easily absorbing oil that helps skin regenerate), algae and beta glucans, it absorbs fast and is very soothing to the skin. It stays with you and by morning you can still feel the moisture and skin is tighter and firmer. It really helped reduce the fine lines and sped the healing on blemishes. I have rosacea and it did not irritate my skin and actually helped reduce the redness and inflammation.
It is a little pricey at $135, but a lot less than department store and high end spa brands. My favorite lower end brand is Olay Regenerist and my favorite high end brand is Omorovicza. This product rated in the middle in that if I have extra money I would get Kalologie over Olay and skip the Omorovicza. If you want a product that delivers full face improvement, this one is pretty good.
One of the most modern popular Christmas songs is Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas”. The pop diva has partnered with M.A.C. Cosmetics on a holiday lipstick that everyone will want for Christmas. The lipstick is aptly named “All I Want” and is a shimmery champagne that will look good on all complexions.
The limited edition lipstick will be available beginning tomorrow, Dec. 3, 2015 at maccosmetics.com. Pricing has not been released but most M.A.C. lipsticks run between $17 and $20 USD.
The Fall Beauty Trend Show took place this weekend at Nordstrom Montgomery Mall. More than 150 ladies got up early for the annual show to learn about the latest trends, get makeovers from national brand artists and win free stuff. The Fall Beauty Trend Show happens at select Nordstrom stores across the country and is three hours of beautymania.
The cost of the beauty trends show is $20, with the balance on a gift card to use on beauty the day of the show. Nordstrom also supplies coffee and muffins – this year they had red velvet ones and you also get a special canvas tote filled with samples.
After the runway show is over, guests can visit the beauty department and get advice and makeovers from national makeup artists. I b-lined it over to NARS to get my eyes done. I was getting tired of my regulars, MAC, Urban Decay and L’Oreal and wanted something different. I love that pewter color that many of the Rea; Housewives of Orange County wear in their interviews so the artist hooked me up with NARS’ Dual Intensity in “Dione”. First she used NARS Velvet Shadow Stick in “Goddess” all over my lid and brow. She said I could wear it alone or as an eye primer. I loved it so I bought it. Next she applied Dione on my lid. She used “Portobello 1” in my crease and blended it through. Portobello is a matte and comes in a duo. It is a mushroomy beige and I have so many colors like that so I didn’t buy it. She finished off my look with black eyeliner and NARS lengthening mascara.
You may still be available to attend a beauty trends show at your local store. Just go to Nordstrom.com and look up the events at your store or call your local store’s beauty department.

Looking for something new to do for Girl’s Night Out? How about making your own makeup? It may seem like an arduous task, buying all the ingredients and searching Pinterest for recipes. But if you live in the Maryland/DC area, you are in luck! I recently attended a “make and take event” put on by the founders of Dear Baby Products, a local company that makes handmade pregnancy and baby safe bath and beauty products.
Kate Ansari from Dear Baby brought everything we needed to make a foundation and a lip balm, including ingredients, utensils and containers. All we had to do was measure, mix and have fun experimenting with the pigment powders. Kate was there for guidance and to help us out with color matching. All the ladies left with customized products made from safe, natural ingredients like avocado oil, shea butter and aloe vera.
Kate and Dear Baby Products offer make and take events for baby showers, girls night out, team-building events and more. The optimum size for an event is between 10 to 20 people. This keeps the cost agreeable (around $20 per person) and gives everyone enough time and attention to make their products. To schedule your own make and take, go to dearbabyproducts.com.
You can also buy products from the Dear Baby Product line on the web or at Maryland area Whole Foods stores.
