Beauty moves at lightning speed these days. All the amazing products on the market can leave you with a bulging makeup drawer and an empty wallet! But there is way to make all your beauty dreams come true on a budget – discount department stores.
Visit any TJ Maxx, Ross and Marshalls and you’ll find a vast beauty department filled with skincare, bath and body, makeup, haircare and more. On a recent trip I found high end skincare like Elizabeth Arden and Estee Lauder, mermaid makeup brushes, products from Philosophy and The Body Shop, hair dryers, even hair extensions!
You can get really great deals, especially on clearance. I got one of those makeup eraser cloths for $2 and a package of collagen eye strips for $2.99. The thing to remember when shopping is to check expiration dates and the list of ingredients. Products made in Europe are a safer bet (even better than the U.S.A.) because the E.U. has adopted laws that require ingredients to be tested before added to a product on the market.
Lastly, remember the cardinal rule in beauty products, never use a product on your skin you haven’t tried before for a special event! Allergies don’t care about your itinerary!
If you do your own manicures at pedicures at home – you are going to want a little invention called Tweexy. This little silicone device holds a nail polish bottle and has little rings on the bottom that fit snuggly on your fingers and toes. No more searching for a good place to put your polish and dripping all over place! This cool invention makes painting your nails way easier. The only place you can pick one up right now is on Amazon for $14.99 each. It comes in blue, pink and green. Happy polishing!

Las Vegas now has a Container Store! I was invited to the Blogger Sneak Peek at the new store and got the 411 on all their great products. It has everything you need to organize any room of your home. I was quite impressed with all the items made just for organizing cosmetics. The clear acrylic organizers for nail polish, lipstick and makeup brushes look so great you can keep them on top of the counter. They are also reasonably priced around $6 each.

I did not see these when I was in the store – but what a great idea! If you have those days when you can’t wear your contacts, these makeup glasses are just the thing!

A couple of other mentions: The Gal Pal Ice Bag – sometimes the gel ice packs don’t cut it.
For a different look – The Grassy Organizer for a different look for your countertop.
The Container Store is located at Town Square Las Vegas.
