Pumpkin bread and candy corn are just a couple of things we get to indulge in around Halloween. But the holiday is also the time to get creative with your makeup and nails. Here are few Halloween products that you can use all month and with your costume on the big day.
Kiss and Broadway Nails have two types manicure products that are all decked out for Halloween. Kiss Nail dress are cute stickers that you simply apply and then file the edges off. There are four special edition designs priced at $2.99 each. Find them at Kmart, CVS and Walgreens stores. Broadway Nail’s imPRESS Press-On Manicures are great when you don’t have the time/don’t want to damage your nails with acrylic nails. They simply “press-on” and last about a week. Get your hands on the six limited edition Halloween designs for $7.99 at Kmart, CVS and Walgreens stores.
Need some lashes to go with your costume? These cute Halloween lashes By Kiss are as cute in the package as they are on your eyelids. Available in kitty, witch, devil, angel, princess and fairy for just $3.99 each with adhesive included, available at Kmart stores.
Fake tattoos are big at Halloween, for both costumes and for an activity at parties. Tattoo Junkee has an easy kit for making realistic looking tattoos and glitter tattoos. The kit comes with stencils, 3 body glitters, body glue and glitter application brush, $9.98 at Wal-Mart stores.
Tattoo Junkee also has a lineup of other fun stuff glitter lip paint, glam stamps and matte finish realistic tattoo body paints available in black, brown and henna. All the products are available at Wal-Mart starting at $6.88.
When I scoping the aisles at Walgreens, I found these two new nail kits. The first, by Kiss is a clear layering kit that uses matte and shiny polishes to help you create designs or just gloss up any plain polish.
It retails for around $7.99. Here is a nice YouTube tutorial by Ethel Boucher:
If you’re into stickers and bling, you’ll love the Rock Beauty Manicure Bar. The set includes nail stickers, polish, glitter and confetti. There are two sets, one is a lot of pinks and the other is blues and super hero blurbs. $10 at Walgreens.
The secret to a shiny, long-lasting manicure is a good top coat. I always get comments like, “Is that a gel manicure” or “I didn’t know they had gel in that color”. But I never get gel manicures. First of all I don’t have time and second, I’m scared of UV lights. I used to use Essie’s To Dry For! religiously, until I found a new favorite, Good To Go!.
While to To Dry For! was a great quick dry, Good To Go! has a quick dry component and a chip resistant, non-yellowing high gloss shine additive. It retails for around $10, but it is available at ULTA Beauty – so with their $3.50 coupon, you can get it for $6.50.
