Bluemercury mini-haul

NARS Gaiety Blush from @bluemercury

Bluemercury offers free two day-shipping everyday.

I recently ran out of my favorite NARS blush, Gaiety. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find it at any local store, so I went on a web search. It is available at the NARS site but I wasn’t interested in stacking the cart or paying $5.95 for shipping. Luckily, I ran into Bluemercury.

Bluemercury is a boutique beauty retailer that carries higher end makeup and skincare. You’ll find brands like Bobby Brown, Tom Ford,¬† Laura Mercier and Hourglass. The big bonus about the company is you get free two-day shipping with practically every purchase.

I bought a NARS blush for $30 and got free shipping, three samples and one deluxe sample. I got a pair of skyn ICELAND firming ice gels, Hum Glow Sweet Glow gummies, NARS deluxe Sheer Glow Foundation sample and Peter Thomas Roth Hungarian thermal water mineral-rich moisturizer.

So next time you need something, check out Bluemercury!

This amazing foot peeling mask is only $3

Get your feet ready for sandal weather pronto!

Summer is here, along with the need for a good pedicure. Unfortunately, no amount of scrubbing by the most amazing manicurist can make those winter feet super smooth. The only way to get them baby smooth is with a foot mask. Peeling foot masks are made with alpha hydroxy acids that penetrate deep into the skin, removing callouses and dead skin.

This mask by Earth Therapeutics (I may get a commission from this link.) is enriched with Tea Tree Oil, adding moisture during the peeling process. I left my mask on for about an hour and my feet felt “cold” for a few days after. Kind of like if you put Ben-Gay on your feet. It takes about a week for the peeling to start and it’s kind of gross for a few days – wear socks to catch the skin. I also used a pumice stone to get some of the skin off, even though it says not to do that.

After the peeling stopped, all my dry skin was gone and my feet actually looked younger! It even took a layer off my toenails, making them smoother. I am definitely going to use this mask again when my feet get gross again.

You can find these masks for around three dollars at Wal-mart, Harris Teeter and other big box stores. ULTA has them in a two-pack for around $10.

Maybelline Snapscara – a review

Maybelline’s new mascara made for easy removal.

Volumizing mascaras are great. They make your lashes look longer and fuller, all without using glue! But removing some them is like removing glue. Snapscara (I may get a commission from this link) by Maybelline is a new washable mascara that is supposed to be easy to take off. It’s also the first wax-free mascara.

I hate mascara because I have sensitive eyes and mascara always seems to bleed under my eyes, making me look like a raccoon. I picked this up in Pitch Black to try.

The good news: It is easy to remove. I used my regular overall makeup cleanser and it removed the mascara without any tugging or scrubbing.

The bad news: About 3/4 through the day it was under my eyes.

Snapscara comes in four different colors and retails for $7.99. Right now at ULTA you can get a free makeup bag with your Maybelline purchase  of $15 or more.
