Bareminerals BARESKIN bronzer being discontinued

If you have a fair complexion, you may have trouble using bronzers. Getting the right coverage with powders and creams can leave you looking like you fell in a mud puddle. My favorite go-to bronzer is BARESKIN SHEER SUN Serum Bronzer by bareMinerals. Unfortunately they are discontinuing it!

This serum can be used to highlight as well as an all over product. It blends great into foundation and you can even use your fingers to apply it. It has a shimmery glow that makes you look like you just got back from a vacation at the beach. It also blends very well with liquid and powder foundations. I’m telling you about it now so you can still enjoy it/stock up if you already use it. BTW it lasts forever!

You can still get it at the bareMinerals site and some stores for $24 (originally $28). I have also seen it at (I may get a commission from this link) Amazon and Walmart.com.

Serovital launches new beauty supplement

The makers behind SeroVital, the popular hgh booster have a launched a newer, faster acting product called SeroVital Advanced. The formulation is designed to work in as little as 15 days (vs. 30 days) and is taken twice a day instead of once.

SeroVital Advanced is made up of two formulas, a morning and an evening version. The evening version is similar to the original, a blend of amino acids like L-Lysine, L-Arginine, and L-Glutamine to boost hgh levels. The morning formula is made with collagen, ceramides and hyaluronic acid to help with fine lines and skin texture. It also helps to boost energy with coffee bean, mint, lady’s mantle, cumin extracts and olive leaves.

The company designed the new product in response to feedback from its loyal customers.

“It is truly an innovation in anti-aging science, formulated to increase skin hydration by up to 23.8%, skin elasticity by 15.9%, and skin smoothness by up to 11.0% in just 15 days. Individuals in the studies on the functional ingredients in SeroVital ADVANCED also experienced enhanced energy, focus, and mood,” says Dr. Amy Heaton, Ph.D., Chief Science Officer for SeroVital.

SeroVital ADVANCED will be available for $119 for a 30-day supply on SeroVital.com beginning January. It will be available at ULTA sometime in spring 2019.

ULTA beauty haul- Makeup Revolution, Joico and Essence

Last week I took advantage of  coupons and free shipping to get some Pre-Black Friday beauty goodies. I got all of this for $37 shipped. Here are the details:

Makeup Revolution Reloaded Palette Newtrals 2, $7 – I bought this palette because it has good ratings and a reviewer said it was a dupe for Urban Decay’s Cherry Palette.

Makeup Revolution Reloaded Palette  Affection (online only), $7 – This looked great online but has too many sparkly shadows, I will probably return it.

Joico Travel Size K-PAK Deep-Penetrating Reconstructor $3 x 2 (normally $6.99 each)- I love this stuff! Perfect to use after a color service or to revive dry, damaged hair. K-Pak (I may get a commission from this link)  is made with amino acids that build the hair cuticle up, making hair strong and soft.

Essence Jelly Keen Powder Palette, $9.99 – I was looking to replace two of my favorite NARS blushes, Org$sm and Gaiety. Essence is an affordable German brand with favorable reviews, so I grabbed this palette. The 2 cheek colors, a peachy orange and a bubblegum pink aren’t as finely milled as NARS products, but the two colors are great dupes. It also has two complimentary highlighting shades.

Essence Banana Loose Setting Powder, $5 ($2.50) – Because Essence was buy one get one 50% off, I  got these next two items for half price. First, the banana powder. I always thought about buying a banana powder so I thought, what the heck. This powder isn’t very yellow, it look like a tinted setting powder. It worked okay, I’ll have to experiment with it further.

Essence Kiss The Frog Lipstick (also available in Kiss The Mermaid, blue and Kiss The Unicorn, purple, $3.50 each – I always wanted to try one of the PH lipsticks but didn’t want to shell out $20. These are more like lip balms (appropriate for kids too!) and not as fancy but still fun for $1.75 on sale.

ULTA Holiday Stocking Stuffers $2.99 or 5 for $5- Every year ULTA has these cute stocking stuffers you can buy in bulk for just $1 each. They can get pretty picked over in stores so they are a great add-on to an online order. I chose Marshmallow Mint Face & Body Mini Wipes, a 3-pack of nail files, a Vanilla Bean Bath & Shower Fizzer and two packs of glittery bobby pins (because I like glittery bobby pins).

I also got a couple a samples – perfume samples. I hate perfume samples 🙄. Oh well.

Fall beauty treats for lips and skin

In most of the country it’s still too warm for pumpkin spice lattes, but that doesn’t mean you can’t gear up for fall. I have selected four beauty picks that are great for both warm and cool temperatures. First off we have the Yes To Charcoal Paper Mask. I got this skin clearing mask at Dollar Tree for $1 but you can find them everywhere from general merchandise stores to beauty boutiques. Charcoal is a natural skin detoxifier and has become a popular ingredient across the facial mask spectrum. I personally do not like to spend time putting on gooey masks and even more, I hate removing them. This mask is no fuss – no muss,  and cleans out your pores, all for a good price. FYI- it may tingle or burn a little bit depending on the sensitivity level of your skin.

Next up is Revlon Color Charge Lip Powder in Peach Pucker. This has been around in short supply at different stores this summer. You can use this cool powder to create depth and highlight your lips without messing up your lipsticks/glosses. Use a sponge applicator or finger to apply and cover with a clear gloss if desired. It is also available in a palette of pinks and purples called “High Fever” and costs around $8 each. Ulta has a similar exclusive version with purple cases as part of the “Electric Shock” collection.

Eyeshadow sticks are amazing but can be really expensive. I got hooked on NARS’ Goddess at a cost of $29 each and have been auditioning replacements ever since.  America’s favorite value cosmetic line E.L.F. has come up with a pretty good alternative. I picked up the E.L.F. COSMETICS No Budge Metallic Eyeshadow Stick in Pearl at CVS (They also sell a Rose Gold version) for just $4. Frankly, I couldn’t really tell the difference and will snapping up a few more.

Finally, here is my favorite fall find. I love Pixi by Petra‘s Glow Tonic. It speeds exfoliation and smells really good. The newest tonic, Pixi by Petra Retinol Tonic is taking its place. This jasmine scented tonic is infused with time release retinol and peptides that tackle two major skin issues (for me anyway), acne and fine lines. I have aging skin and using stronger retinol creams has been a nightmare of peeling skin and redness. This tonic has just a micro dose of retinol thats helps clear skin and reduce fine lines. In less than a month of use, it has cleared my weird chin acne and minimized lines. It’s just $15 for a 3.4 oz bottle at Target.

Hydrating your skin from the inside with hyaluronic acid and ceramides

Hyaluronic Acid is my go to when it comes to skincare. I can’t enough of it. I have night creams, day creams, masks, lip balms and mascara, all formulated with the magic ingredient. Hyaluronic acid is the main ingredient in injectables like Restylane and can hold up to 1000 times its weight in water. What does it do for you? It plumps up your skin in major way!

Glow Matrix Advanced Skin Hydrator by Neocell (I may get a commission from this link), goes an extra step with a formulation made with Vitamin A, Ceramides, GLA and coconut water. Easy to use capsules help to build by collagen by boosting moisture and improving the body’s skin barrier.

Neocell gave me a sample of Glow Matrix Advanced Skin Hydrator to try, and here is the verdict. The package instructions say to take three capsules a day. Divided by 90, that gives you a 30 day supply. The first thing I noticed is that it turns your urine yellow! I guess you know its going through you! Within the first couple of days I noticed my skin was firmer, lines were less noticeable and my skin barrier was improved. Now skin barrier is hard thing to pin point so I like to give the example of how children’s skin is so smooth and even to the touch (that’s part of why it looks so good). A strong skin barrier is important to both the health and appearance of your skin at every age. I suffer from Rosacea so keeping that skin barrier strong helps reduce my symptoms.

In addition to my face, I also noticed improvement in the softness and suppleness of my skin on my neck and body. This supplement also helps to diminish that dry “crepey” skin you get as you age. I think Glow Matrix would also work great in the winter to combat dry indoor skin. You can get Glow Matrix for about $25 for a one month supply, which is a pretty good value. You can get in online at Neocell.com as well as Amazon (go Prime!), Costco, GNC and the Vitamin Shop.
