The Opté Skincare System has dropped, here’s what it will cost you

If you hate wearing foundation, the Opté Precision Skincare System is for you.

Early this year at the CES show in Las Vegas, Proctor & Gamble previewed a magical new skincare device. The Opté Precision Skincare System combines a digital camera, LED scanning with a serum inkjet printer to give your face a flawless surface. Just run the wand across your face and its tiny scanner finds dark spots and then covers them up with a mineral pigmented serum. You do not need foundation! Just add your blush, eye makeup and highlighter and you’re ready to go! It’s basically an inkjet foundation printer for your face.

Now the scary part, the price. If you want to purchase it straight out, the price is $599 for the starter kit. You get the wand, accessories and one serum (basically the “ink”). A refill costs $149 and is supposed to last two months with daily use. Now, if you don’t want to spend $599, you can go with the installment plan, $84 for 24 months. The installment plan also includes periodic shipments of serum. Now, we all know the price tends to go down over time. Remember airbrush makeup systems? Here’s hoping for a really good Black Friday sale.
